Project — Waterfront Estate, Sarasota
A patchy, sandy waterfront lot rebuilt from the plan up — curved paver driveway, layered palm beds, and thousands of square feet of fresh sod, finished in under three weeks.
Plan & Scope
Before a single shovel hit the sand, we drew the full property plan — plant legend with quantities, bed layouts, sod measurements, and the curved driveway layout. The client signed off on exactly what the finished property would look like.
Step by Step
Eight steps, one crew. Here is the exact sequence we followed from the first stake to the final walk-through.
We transferred the paper plan onto the ground with stakes and marking paint — driveway curve, bed lines, and sod edges — then confirmed every line with the client before any equipment moved.

Old debris, a leftover propane tank, and failed turf were hauled out with a dumpster and trailer staged on site. The lot was cleared down to workable soil.

Dig day. The crew graded the yard for positive drainage away from the house, cut in the bed contours along the seawall, and tilled amendment into the sandy soil.

Pallets of pavers were staged, the driveway was excavated and packed with a compacted base, then the curved paver field was laid, cut, and locked with joint sand.

Foxtail and Lady palms were set first — the big structural pieces — each one placed to match the plan's sight lines from the house and the water.

Lobster Claw, Crinum lilies, and the full understory went in around the palms, then every bed was edged and top-dressed with fresh mulch for a crisp, finished line.

Thousands of square feet of fresh sod rolled out in staggered rows — front approach first, then the full waterfront lawn out to the dock — and was watered in the same day.

We walked the whole property with the client against the original plan, dialed in the irrigation schedule, and left a care sheet for the new palms and sod.

Before
Patchy sand, thin turf, and an undefined seawall line — a waterfront lot with everything still to play for.
During the Build
Grading and bed prep first, hardscape next, then palms and sod — a clean, organized site at every step.
After
Designed on paper, built by hand — the same lot, transformed into a resort-style waterfront property.
Every element — driveway, beds, sod, and seawall plantings — was drawn into the plan before the build began.
Plant & Material Palette
Salt-tolerant, Sarasota-proven plants paired with hardscape built to handle waterfront weather.
Specimen palms for height and that classic Sarasota silhouette.
Color and texture in the mid and lower layers of every bed.
Curved driveway and walkways on a compacted base, locked with joint sand.
Thousands of square feet of lawn, staggered rows, watered in same day.
The Numbers
Your Yard Is Next
We walk every property with you first, then design the plan before a single shovel hits the sand. From a single flower bed to a full waterfront build-out.
